Having a strategic plan is always a good idea, but in the rush for the future please do not forget our rich and interesting heritage.
Forward thinking people, 50 years ago decided Huntsville had a history worth preserving and so began the Muskoka Museum. Muskoka Heritage Place will be celebrating this wonderful event July 26th this year.We have a local 100 year old train which hundreds of people come to ride. The old C.N station has been lovingly restored. Our Downtown advertises itself as "Historical". These are only a few of our heritage treasures.
Not only do we have to preserve our past for future generations but it gives an economic boost to the community in these days of "cultural tourism"
Our heritage needs to be supported and maintained now and in all future planning.
