Welcome to the Town of Hunstville Blog. Simply put, this Blog is a place on the internet where you can read and comment about the issues and opportunities facing Huntsville. Your Community Master Plan Committee comprises all of Council with the Mayor as Chair. We have started this blog with broad based community statements. You are invited to read and comment on what others are saying. Your comments are encouraged and are not restricted to these initial example vision statements.

Other communities are evaluating their current inventory of parks and recreation assets and looking into the future needs of the community in these areas. The town of Huntsville doesn't seem to want to do this as there is any reference to this area on the Master Plan website. Why is that?

European communities have great social events for their residents to get together and enjoy the outdoors. A great winter time activity to get people out of their nests is to have a skating on the river around the bridge in town and around the restaurant on the lake. Hot chocolate, bright coloured lanterns, a band, and some "beaver tails" would be a great way to spend a winter evening for everyone! Ths is taken from an example in Amterdam, where people routinely skate on the canals when they freeze over, a huge deal since it doesn't happen very often! Call me nostalgic... :)
